Intra Company Transfers

The Intra-Company Transfer program allows international companies to transfer qualified employees to Canada on a temporary basis. This is with a view to expand the Canadian exports, enhance competitiveness in overseas markets as well as improve the management effectiveness.

Since these transferees provide economic benefits to Canada through their expertise, they are exempt from the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), however they require a work permit.

Essentially, the ICT Program allows the transferees to stay in Canada for a temporary period only, with a possible pathway for permanent residence.
